Background Info
Contains spoilers! You may consider reading this after you've seen the movie.

Some of the scenes inside the U-boat were shot with a 'free camera'. This camera can be accessed by pressing "shift" + "f2" when inside the sub (works without GWX).

A 'Falke' torpedo has an accoustic seeker and finds its target by the screw noises. In this situation this was the only torpedo with a realistic chance to hit the destroyer.

While the main part of the movie plays at dawn, the underwater scenes had to be shot at daylight, since the objects were to dark and were lighted in a strange way.

The building at the end is the U-Boot-Ehrenmal (U-Boot memorial) in Möltenort in the vicinity of Kiel.

Story and characters are fictional. Any resemblance to historic events, real persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
